I know the old Dx Summit is now defunct and I am trying to get Dxsummit.fi to work. No luck. I am not able to get any new cluster enabled so that I can receive spots. I can't find the screen to add a new cluster.
Any help wud be much appreciated.

Hi Ross, hope you are well !!

DX Summit works, its my default. For that or DXSCAPE navigate to the top left of LOGics desktop, click on Forms and select "WebCluster DX Summit" or "WebCluster DXSCAPE". If you want some other source select either Telnet 1 or Telnet 2 and input the data for the source your looking for. LOGics Help has a lot of useful information on this.

Let us know if you get it working !

Hi Brad, Thanks for your reply. DxSummit does work but it is very slow, and posts don't update as quickly as they did in the past. (I think I started with Logic 4 or 5 around the year 2000 but can't remember exactly.) I tried Telnet but the screen does not let me enter any data for web sites. I think the problems started with my last update as I now get error msgs. when I start Logic and the screen locks up frequently and requires a reload of the program. I will keep working on it.
By the way, on a different subject, my best friend and neighbor in Florida owned a business in Mentor. It was US Endoscopy. Sold to Steris Corp. in 2012.
Agn, thanks for your help and if you have other suggestions let me know.

Ross,
Try setting the Timer Interval to a lower number to speedup DX Summit spotting.
Did you select a host from the drop down box in the telnet window to connect?

Hi Kyle, good to hear from you agn. The time was set to .9 for some reason. This morning I set it to 2 mins. I just set it to 1 min. I have tried clicking on to Host box to get the drop dowm menu of hosts but no host show. I tried both Telnet 1 and Telnet 2 and ther are no hosts to choose from. I have tried reloading Logic using the saved file from my last download. I am using V 10.0.28
The program is usable but it was much easier in the past.

I remember US Endoscopy and when Steris bought them. Steris grew considerably since then and occupy many buildings here in Mentor. There were 6 or so competitors that started up here but didn't last long, Steris is a tough nut to crack !! Hope your friend is enjoying life in FL!!

To add to what Kyle was saying I attached a pic of a Telnet window, maybe it will help. Not sure why you're not seeing the host list but you can add whatever you want by clicking on the SETUP icon in the Telent window....more visuals in the pic.

Good morning Brad. I click on (forms)and go to (Telnet 1) and I am not able to enter anything and there is no dropdown list of hosts. So I click on (SETUP) and a new screen opens called ( TELNET HOSTS SETUP). There is nothing in any of the boxes and I am not able to enter any data any place on that screen. I think I must be missing a file that has the list of telnet sites and that screen just not let me type in a new host.
I'm going to keep trying so that I don't have to learn a whole new system.

Try re-installing the current version and that should take care of installing anything your missing. Check the box for updating the tables and lists, etc. just in case there is something in those that your missing.

The re-install is painless but not a bad idea to back-up LOGic 1st or copy the entire LOGic directory over before updating. If you kept your current versions installer it makes going back easier, although I never tried, I think you can select an earlier update from LOGics updater.

If your not feeling "lucky" a call to Dennis may the best solution.

Hi Brad and Kyle,
Yippee, Making some progress. I reloaded the program and am now able to enter a telnet host but the process still does not seem right. I still don't have a dropdown list that I can choose a host from. If a current list is available that I could load I sure think that would make things easier. I do make a screenshot of an error msg that I get every time I start the program and I am trying to figure out how to it to you.

Dennis will have to look at the error message.

If you click "Setup", another window should pop-up with host, no?

Re Kyle....if you click on SETUP you should see a list of 15 or so host sites, if still no list then somethings not installing or corrupt. The error your getting seems to suggest a problem with the prefix exceptions, I would try another re-install and when the "Select Components" window pops up select "Install the Prefix Table update..." and "Install new awards lists, membership lists, and user defined fields". If you did that then I would wait for Dennis to chime in or give him a ring. I attached a screen shot of the "Select Components" pop up you get when installing with those components selected.

Of course its Field Day weekend, what better time to not have the Spot Log working (HIHI).
