WORLD MAP
|
LOGic’s map facility features a unique Azimuthal equidistant projection world
map that is
drawn specifically for your QTH. You may display the whole earth, or zoom in for
more detail--ideal for VHF work. The map shrinks and grows as you resize the
window. The sun position, day/night, and gray line are updated in real-time. As
you QSO, a line is drawn to the stations you hear or work. DX spots received by
the spot log are plotted.
As you move the mouse over the map, the DX and direction to that point
is displayed. If your antenna rotor is interfaced to LOGic, clicking the
map aims the antenna to the point you clicked.
LOGic also interfaces to DX Atlas, a third-party map program with many
impressive features. LOGic will plot your station and the other station
in DX Atlas.

Here is an explanation of what you see on the map. The colors shown here are factory-default. Most may be changed.
- Green areas represent land. Blue areas represent water White areas represent ice.
- A yellow X represents your QTH (the center of the map).
- Red dots represent the north and south poles.
- Country boundries are drawn with a dark gray line. United States state boundries are drawn in light gray.
- The sun icon represents the point on earth where the sun is directly overhead.
The darker area of the map represents nighttime. The gray line is the edge of the darker area.
When the gray line is passing over your QTH, the gray line will be distorted. This is normal.
- A red line is drawn from your QTH to the QTH shown in LOGic's info form. The Info form in
LOGic must be open or minimized for this feature to function.
- Pink dots represent the location of received DX spots. The location of these dots is based
on the country or region determined from the callsign, and may not be exactly on the station's QTH.
Holding the mouse on top of the spot will display information about the spotted station,
such as the callsign of the DX station, who spotted the DX station, the DXCC country,
date/time, etc. Clicking a spot will set the rig and rotor to that spot. Right-click to aim long-path.
- Light-gray dots represent stations generating DX spots. You may hold the mouse on top of the DX spotter
and the posted spot to display detailed information.
