Strange -- it just started happening? Is there any other information in the error message?

Try installing the CD then the .50 update again. Don't uninstall first, just install on top of what is there. It shouldn't affect any of your data or setup, but it wouldn't hurt to make a copy of the LOGic folder first.

Let us know!

Dennis,

Re-installed Logic 9 and .50 update. Started Logic 9 and got the same error!

The problem started after a recent .NET security update.

Is this the update? I will try installing it here and see if it causes mine to fail. No other reports of problems yet tho. LOGic uses .net V 2 still.

What version of Windows are you running?

Ok, no problems here with that update on Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

If you ignore the error, what feature doesn't work?

Is User Account Control turned off?

Dennis,

Thanks -

No the update you show is not the latest on my computer. To the best of my knowledge the last update to my computer is:

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 3.0 KBD2756918 installed on my computer 1/12/13

I am running Windows XP Home Edition SP3

Dennis,

If I ignore the error I get the following:

Program Error

Unknown Member Spotlogref

At this point Logic has read and displayed my transciever frequency!

If I ignore this error I get the following:

Logic 9

OLE Error code 0X080040154

Class not registered. Class containing OLE Object is being Ignored Record Number 4

When this occurs the Telnet window has opened.

I do not know where to determine the status of User Account Control.

Ok, a problem with sound then. Try this:

Install this on your system:

http://slimdx.org/download_mar11.php

Click the INSTALL NET 2.0 button.

I think that will fix it. I don't see how the .NET update screwed it up in the first place tho.

To determine the status of UAC, type UAC in the Windows search box.

Dennis,

Thanks for the suggestion and the link. I did the install, however it made no difference. I get exactly the same errors.

Ok, cool. Thanks for the update.

For future reference, Robie was getting errors about system.drawing not found, a very basic part of the .NET framework. He tried reinstalling the 2.0 service pack 2, but it said it was already installed, and as I recall the REPAIR option did not fix the problem. Here is the .NET cleanup tool he used:
