To fix, close LOGic.
Go to the DATA folder inside the LOGic install folder. This will typically be c:\program files (x86)\logic\data or c:\program files\logic\data. Delete prefix.dbf.
Now install the latest LOGic update. Do this even if you have previously installed it.

Thanks, Dennis, this seems to have done the trick for me. I had to reinstall LOGic after a fresh install of Win8.1. I kept getting these COM Status error. Following your instructions here seems to have corrected the problem. 73 de Carl, N8VZ
