LOGic has stopped importing the grid from LoTW. This seems to have started around 03/25 or 03/26. QSL downloads earlier than around 03/24 all imported the grid just fine, QSL's downloaded 03/25 and after stopped importing the grid. I uploaded over 500 QSO's on Sunday 03/29 and as of today all QSL downloads (over 150) over the last several days failed to import the grid square. Other data like county is importing fine. Any ideas ?? I havent seen anything in the LoTW forum but will post there as well.

LOGic v9.20.3, I've made no changes in LOGic for quite some time so this is "sudden". I'll go back and find the exact date and time of the last successful grid import and the first that didn't.

PS: Also the LoTW date field is not automatically being filled in, think I reported this sometime ago but got missed. Not a problem when there are only a few QSL's coming in, but getting hundreds of QSL's is a chore to manually enter that date.

UPDATE: Think its something in this latest version, see timeline below;

03/18/2020 Installed LOGic v9.20.2
03/24/2020 Last LoTW QSL download imported the grid fine
03/25/2020 Installed LOGic v9.20.3
03/26/2020 First LoTW QSL download since 03/24, no grids imported from this date through today 04/01/2020

Hi Grad:

Look in the ADIF file to make sure the grid square is in that. It is definately working here. Try downloading and installing 9.20.3 again. I made an undocumented change for an Israeli station who was having problems entering 4-digit years. It shouldn't affect anything, but to be sure.

I don't think we log that. Do you have a user-defined LOTW Date Received field or something? What is the name of that field?

Hi Dennis,

1) Yes the adif file had gridsquare
2) just re-installed v9.20.3, did another LoTW download of 19 new QSL's and none filled the grid field in LOGic, the adif file had the gridsquare. The log field ADIF tab has both Import & Export boxes checked. Following is one of the just downloaded QSL's snipped from the ADIF file, GRIDSQUARE is highlighted in red; (I can send the full ADIF file if you need it, also the previous one)

3) The userfield (not created by me), is LOTWRDATE (ADIF LOTW_QSLRDATE), Likewise there is a LOTWSDATE (ADIF LOTW_QSLSDATE). Both in Log Fields are enabled and import/export boxes checked. I dont use LOTWSDATE but LOTWRDATE has proven to be a huge help when trying to resolve errors.

PS: If it helps any, the "Import from LoTW" window "Update Log" tab that shows the list of QSL's to import has a column called Grid, it's completely empty.

Thanks Brad--I see the problem. Working on it.

Looking at your sample, it looks like LOTW_QSLRDATE has been replace with just QSLRDATE. Delete LOTWRDATE and LOTWSDATE from LOGic. There should already be QSLSDATE and QSLRDATE in LOGic. It still won't work until I fix the problem with GRIDSQUARE however.

What I've noticed is the GRID box in my main logging screen is now only filling 4 of the 6 characters. I looked in my log and it started on 25-Mar-2020. Everything before that, the GRID box had all 6 characters. I installed LOGic 9.20.3 on 25-Mar-2020.

I've had to manually enter the last 2 characters of the Grid square after logging a QSO.

Thanks,

Thanks as always Dennis !!

As for the QSL dates...

The only problem with deleting LOTW_QSLRDATE is it will not allow for differentiating/tracking between QSL's received via paper and those received from LoTW, i.e., I get a QSL card on 01/01/2020, then an LoTW confirmation on 02/01/2020. If QSLRDATE is the only date field for both receipts, then which one is "lost" or overwritten ??

I use QSLRDATE and QSLSDATE for paper QSL's, LOTW_QSLRDATE for LoTW (I don't track or care about upload date). If not possible to write to LOTW_QSLRDATE than that's ok and I'll keep doing it manually. Just thought I'd ask if possible to autofill that date, its only a "pain" after a contest when I get hundreds of LoTW confirmations and shrug when I have to add the date, BUT would NOT ever want QSLRDATE to autofill or otherwise represent any LoTW confirmation. I attached my logform showing the QSL Date fields, the one illustrated has both paper and LoTW dates.

Vin, I didnt notice the last 2 characters being lost, I'll go back and see if your dates match mine. May be moot when Dennis does the next update.

Ha....of course the way I log certainly doesn't represent the universe of LOGic users. Regardless, if you were to add an autofill QSORDATE feature I would request a toggle to enable or disable it (hi hi) !!

Ok, well had to add that.....now, lets see, I was working on something very important......zzzzz

Hi Michel,

I believe Dennis is working on this and possibly the fix for importing the full 6 characters. I re-downloaded v9.20.3 a couple times on the chance he slipped the fix into that version but no luck. I'm sure he'll chime in if its close to releasing.

Hi--

I posted 9.20.4 on Friday I think it was. It is my belief that it addresses all issues raised in this thread. Let me know!

Hi Dennis,

Thanks for the update !! Grid square loads perfectly, I also see now a date is entered for the field LOTWRDATE, however the date entered is the date the QSL was downloaded, can it be the actual QSL Date from LoTW's QSL Record. Example, I downloaded several QSL's today (2020-04-20), the actual QSL Dates were all 2020-04-19 (QSLRDATE field from LoTW's download) but t LOGic entered 2020-04-20 for all of them, so is it at all possible to have the actual QSL Date from LoTW imported ?? I attached a better example. I anticipate this may cost me at least one case of Cornona…..

Thanks,
Brad, N8GLS

I fixed it so that when you check in a QSL it uses this date.

As a result, if you are importing missing records, it will not check anything in or use any QSL date. If you ever find yourself in that situation, simply import the missing records, then download and check in. It is a two-step process now.

To test it, get the 9.20.5 update. If you got it earlier today, please get it again.

Tnx & 73,
