I am looking for a way to filter received spots on the spot log. I am trying to filter out spots from cq zone 3 ie [us west coast]. I don't see that as a selection in the filter criteria, is there a way to add cq zone as a filter, or some other work around.

On the spot log options tab, you certainly can filter our the spots you don't want.
Change the filter to:
SPOTBYCONT=GLOBAL.MY_CONTINENT AND NOT CQ_ZONE='3'
