Hello,

I am using Logic version 9.1.30.

I am trying to import this file into the Memberships database to add some SMIRK members:

CALL,VALUE
TI2KI,6794
KE5JXC,6795

This only a small sample of the actual file. I wanted to test with this small file before importing the large file with around 300 records.

What happens is the records get imported but without the call sign. The FIELDNAME field is populated and the VALUE field is populated, but not the CALL field.

See the video file. This shows exactly what I did to import the file.

Thanks,

Mike Newell, WB4HUC

Thanks for the bug report and the EXCELLENT documentation of it.

It has been fixed. Pse install the new 9.1.31 update.

If you have the link to the SMIRK file, pse paste it in a post here and I will fix the LOGic SMIRK import.

Tnx & 73,

Thanks for the quick reply.

The SMIRK roster is apparently available only as a PDF document. Here is the URL:

http://www.smirk.org/smirkroster.pdf

I had downloaded the document, converted it to a text file, stripped out everything but call and membership number. This text file is what I want to import and add to the existing SMIRK data.

I did start LOGIC, go to check for updates, then I downloaded and installed 9.1.31. I then reran
the import procedcure but I got the same results as the first time that were shown in the video.

See the attached screens. You'll see the following:

1 - check for update screen after I updated,
2 - the ABOUT screen after updating.
3 - the import preview screen during the import of the two records
4 - the membership list screen after the import was complete. this screen shows the SMIRK#
added but no call signs for those two records.

I also included the actual text file just in case there's something about it that is causing a problem.

Thanks again,

Mike - WB4HUC

Not sure WHAT is going on. It works here. Let me think about it.

I don't know if it matters, but when I download new releases I just install on top of
the old one insted of installing the new one in a different place.

Should I reinstall 9.1.31 in a new folder and try it?

If I do that it seems that I would lose all my customizations, but I'm willing to give it a try with a completely vanilla installation just to see if the import starts working.

Ok, I found the problem. I was REPLACEing the list, not UPDATEing it. I fixed it for real this time. Pse download and install 9.1.31 again. (You are doing it correctly).

Hello,

Success!!

I was able to import the small file with only two records, and I'm about to import the remaining 200 or so records.

Thanks so much for taking care of this.
