When I try to import from LoTW, I log in ok but then the system seems to hang. Then the program either completely locks or I get the following error:

OLE IDispatch exception code 0 from Inet: Request timed out..

When it completely locks, I have to kill it with the task manager.

Hi again--

Did this just start happening? Is it a LOGIc 9 issue (does LOGic 8 work)?

Tnx & 73,

This is a new issue with LOGic 9. It did not give me error codes with LOGic 8.

Note, there is also an issue with LOGic not changing the K3 to the correct mode sometimes. We discussed this once via email. It has to do with the fact that the K3 wants to change to the mode it was in last time you were on that band, so you need to write the code (for the K3 driver if that's possible) to change freq first, then change mode, not the other way around.

But let's get the error message fixed first.

Ok, no problem with LoTW here.

My guess is that you have something blocking LOGic.exe from accessing the internet. Try turning off your antivirus/web protection software and see if the problem goes away. If that is it, then there has to be some way to tell it to permit LOGic to access the web.

On the K3 setting freq first then mode, I have not addressed that. It is a function of LOGic, not a particular driver. Typically you get a freq shift when you change mode, so you HAVE to set the mode first.

Anyway, I checked my code and I did move the set-mode-and-freq code to the driver, so I can override the default code for the K3. Thanks for the reminder. Will do it after I get the next report on the .32 update's K3 driver.

Tnx & 73,

Just tried a LoTW download again. I log on ok, so I don't think there is anything blocking logic.exe from accessing the internet.

After a short time delay, it get the following message: "No End-of-Header Mark (<EOH>)found. Press a key..."

AFter I press a key, I get a blank form.

Agreed.

Pse paste the contents of the results from the Import page after you get the error. Here are my results:

I figured out the problem. It came to me in a flash. When I opened the import LoTW dialog box, I didn't put in the old date in the "Download QSLs on or since" box, so it was trying to download all 15,732 QSL records. No wonder it seemed like it was freezing up the system. After getting the old date from LOGic 8 and putting it in, everything worked fine.

Ok, good thinking. Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can increase the timeout.

Tnx & 73,
