Was just setting up the form for the ARRL 160M CW contest. It starts at 22:00Z today and runs 42 hours. Since LOGic only takes a start/end date, it shows me the few QSOs I made last night and this morning. It does not score them but confused me and I deleted a record. (I now have enabled the safety log.)

How about adding starting/ending times as there are now a couple contests that are not full 24/48 hours long?

As always, great program. Thanks & 73's, Don

Hi Don:

Just blank the CONTEST ID field for these QSOs. In the future, do not use a contest form for non-contest QSOs.

All the dates do is keep say the 2013 Sweepstakes separate from the 2014 Sweepstakes.

You can create a "QSO" with *ON or *OFF as the call and it will show up in the log. It is intended for contests that require your breaks be at least so many minutes. But that does not affect whether or not a QSO is part of a given contest. It is based on QSO Date and Contest ID.

Tnx & 73,

Thanks for the quick reply. I must not have been clear. I had worked some PJ7 guys
and a few MARAC guys in the (GMT) morning using my regular 'main' log form.
The contest then started at 22:00Z and I loaded 'ARRL 160 METER for W & VE.logform'
which I had updated for this year's dates and reset the STX number. I re-scored the
contest and all was correct (meaning zero). It still showed the stations I had
worked in the 'morning' since they were withing the starting/ending dates. They did
not have anything in the contest id so no error in the score.

I've worked a bunch of random counties this afternoon and will try 160 if it opens
again in the remaining 5 hours.

Thanks & 73's, Don

Ok, it showed them -- where?

When I open 'ARRL 160 METER for W & VE.logform' it shows QSOs during the contest period
starting with the last QSO made loaded in the form. The contest ID is blank. On the browse
log part, I can scroll back as far as I want. The starting/ending time option should offer
to hide anything that is not part of the contest as well as only those that are during
the contest.

Thanks.

Ok, this is normal. All log forms show all QSOs. Open 'ARRL 160 METER for W & VE.logform' and page back thru your data and you will see all your QSOs -- from other contests and non-contest QSOs. Likewise, the Main log form will show all of your contest and non-contest QSOs.

LOGic does not require that you start a new database for a contest. The advantages of this are discussed in the first part of the Contesting section of Help. It properly selects the correct QSOs when exporting and scoring by using the Contest ID and QSO Date.

Tnx & 73,

DH
