I have been using the USB to Serial adapter with Win XP for some time, and recently (with great reluctance) have moved to a new laptop using Win 8.1. The adapter will not work. I have adjusted the virtual memory and obtained the latest prologic driver for 8.1. No joy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Paul:

It is a driver issue that we cannot resolve. I have never heard of Prologic -- do you mean Prolific? No matter, get an FTDI-based adapter and you will be good.

Thanks Dennis.... I'll try the other adapter.... and yes it is a Prolific driver. I'm finding the leap from XP to 8.1 leaves behind a number of apps that don't work on the newer os, but I guess that's life in the big city!
