G'Day Dennis,

Screen real estate is always at a premium. There is never enough space.

While logging, if I put the Progress 1/2 panel on the right side of the screen, and click "Sel" to select an award, the selection panel opens off the screen - well mostly off the screen - with the the OK button out of sight.

I notice that the logic for positioning this selection panel is a little different from the usual, in that it is just a rearrangement of the Progress dialogue. If I move the selection panel, when I close the selection panel, the Progress panel has moved to this new location.

Any chance of something being done? No urgency, but a change to the logic would make life easier.

Sure, I can move the OK button to the left a litte. Done!

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi Dennis,

... wouldn't that make for the same problem if Progress 1/2 were on the left side of the screen.

The display logic needs to adjust the top left of the selection if the right edge will be off the right edge of the display.

Well, Windows is designed so that you can move windows offscreen if you want. No software that I am aware of prevents you from doing this. With the possibility of multiple monitors I'm not sure that it would even be possible to prevent it. I can get the size of the main screen, but beyond that I am not sure.

It depends how far left offsecren you move it I guess. The button is now closer to the center of the window, so is less likely to be moved offscreen. Besides, the window expands to the right (and down) as you go to setup, so no, I don't think you would have a problem if it were on the left.

Tnx & 73,

Thanks Dennis.

Yes, I understand re-windows and positioning. I guess the issue is really the use of the same window and a rearrangement for the selection. It looks like a separate dialogue, but it is not.

Don't spend any more time on the issue - certainly don't redesign the window/dialogue program logic just for me. The new button position will be enough. I will cope.

Right -- it is the same old window that changes size as needed -- maybe not the best design.

Tnx & 73,

Thanks for the effort.
