When entering a new contact in Logic 8, the frequency and band data are not entered correctly. The correct frequency is displayed in the bottom left window. I do get an error when I start logic 8 that says 'retry count passed limit of 20 while attempting to communicate with rig". I'm assuming this must be some communication error with with my level converter which is a rigtalk on COM4. The interval rate is set at the default of 2. What might be causing this? Thanks

Ok, if you get a timeout error, that means that LOGic isn't talking to the rig at all. I assume you are clicking tools/reset radio and rotor interfaces to get it talking again.

By "interval rate", you mean "polling interval"? Typically, you do not poll icoms. Try turning that off.

Assuming that the rig is indeed communicating with LOGic, see this:

I've checked all of the things mentioned; however, the log entry still does not reflect the displayed frequncy in the radio tool. It simply copies the last known entry into the new log book entry. The radio tool is working, displaying the proper frequency, changes when I turn the VFO, etc. So, I know there is communication between the application and the rig.I am NOT polling the icom and the interface rate is set at the default rate of 2. Everything seems to be communicating with the rig (except for the error message in the beginning) and not entering frequency and band info into the new log entry. Sure, I could change this manually but I really like the idea of automatically entering that info.

By the way, this function works fine in other logging programs??
Maybe I have something setup incorrectly?
Thanks 73

Hi--

If you checked these items carefully, I have no other ideas.

Call me and I can log in and take a look, and will probably see the problem. I will be in this evening.

Tnx & 73,
