It works only when Adding a QSO to alert you to open the Other QSOs window if it isn't already visible. This is all explained when you hover the mouse over the checkbox. Add a new QSO, enter a call, and exit the call field (pres {Tab}).
Making it "live" was impractical in the early days of LOGic because it took too long to query all other QSOs when paging thru your log. Even now, I suspect there could be a noticeable delay. I could hide the checkbox when not Adding, but it is a handy way to get to the Other QSOs window.
