I have 40+ log entries that the "update awards progress" function rejects as having the wrong cnty even tho it is correct. I tried changing the cnty in the log form but it reverts back to the faulty cnty when I hit save. How do I fix this?

Thanks, Bob

Is it possible the county name has been changed since the QSOs were originally logged. The Awards-in-progress uses the 'List of valid values' as it's database. Go to Setup > List of valid values, double click on CNTY on the Navigate list on the right side. Scroll down to find the value you think it should be. Not thee counties are STATE,value (no space between state and county thought the county can have a space (CA,SAN MATEO). It's possible your list is corrupt. Is it possible you imported the QSOs from another program that did not format them the same?
You can also try Tools > Database Maintenance, then click on Reindex or Reindex & Pack.

Please take a screen shot of the reconcile and a note of what you think they should be.

Hi guys. Thanks for the reply. See the attached PDF. Error window shows the error after I had selected Hartford in the log form, saved the entry and then re-ran the awards progress function.

Bob,
I don't see anything obvious in your screenshot. I can only think the CNTY entries in the LISTS database is corrupt.

I have exported the CNTY section of my LISTS database. Download that and continue as below.

Go to Tools -> Setup -> List of valid values. Double click on CNTY in the 'Navigate...' list on the right. It will highlight the first CNTY entry (AK,CENTRAL). Click on 'Delete List' in the center and confirm. Then click on 'Import List' and point it to mine that you've downloaded (CNTY.DBF). Now run the 'Update Awards progress'.

Thanks very much, that did the trick. My list had all kinds of entries that do not appear in your list.

Dennis, Incorrect errors in the awards progress scan still plaque me. See screenshot of the cnty problems. I replace my list with the one mentioned in this thread but no change in the errors.

I remember going through this a long time ago.....IIRC, the issue is caused by a difference in the way the county is logged, and that the call is being credited to the wrong county. However, I won't swear that I'm remembering correctly.

For USA-CA purposes the districts in Alaska are counted as 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Virginia has several Independent Cities, Virginia Beach would count as Isle of Wight County.

These AK counties do not count for any award. They were logged from callbooks, which essentially is post office data. LOGic no longer logs county from callbooks for AK "counties." Note that these are old QSOs.

To fix, delete the counties for these QSOs. Click the GO TO button. Hold the cursor on top of the CNTY field. It will show the non-valid data FYI. Now press the Delete key and save. Or figure out what district the QSOs are in.

Or just ignore the errors. They aren't hurting a thing.

The contacts would count towards the USA-CA Worked all Counties Award.

Alaska consist of 4 Judicial Districts:
District 1 - Southeastern - Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka
District 2 - Northwestern - Nome, Barrow
District 3 - Central South - Anchorage, Matanuska, Kenai, Aleutians
District 4 - Central - Fairbanks

Happy Hunting!!

Dennis, I now have over 300 of these cnty errors. Few are from AK--I simply included the first page of the errors on my previous post. See the screen shot for examples. BTW, I just installed Logic on a second PC and restored Logic from the PC that's having the errors. No errors found on the new PC. Does this help diagnose the problem?

Thanks, Bob

It sounds like the CNTY table is missing or incomplete or super-old on the machine with the errors.

Reinstalling the latest update, choosing the INSTALL NEW AWARDS LIST should fix it. Another way, go to the machine that works, to tools/setup/list of valid values. Click on CNTY on the list to the right. Export the CNTY list. Go to the other machine, and restore. Be sure to update awards progress info.

Thanks Dennis. Updating the program did not solve the problem. Importing the ALLBANDDX.DBF file from the other machine did fix it. Maybe that file is not updated as part of the install new awards list.

Not sure where this allbanddx.dbf came from, or how it would affect county tracking, but glad you fixed it.
