Hi Dennis. Two follow-ons requests from previous posts.

1. Info from QRZ subscription still does not come into Logic correctly:
- The city code info is deleted when it follows the city name (typical of non-US addresses). UA4FCJ is one random example of this.
- IOTA info does not go into the log
- "QSL via" info does not go into the log

2. DXCC description is now limited to 16 characters. Can we expand that to be same as Logic 8?

Thanks,

Bob

Hi Bob:

Unfortunately the data does not come with separate fields for city, postal code, etc.

A "secret" diagnostic tool is to shift-rightclick the address line in the callbooks form:
Penza, pr. Stroitelei, 130-232 Russia

So first of all, is Penza is the city, or is it pr. Stroitelei? Or Penza pr. Stroitlei?

Comparing to a Canadian, if pr. Stroiteli is actually a province, we are consistent apart from an extra comma:
FORT MCMURRAY, AB T9K 2C4 Canada

At any rate, I will look into just copying that whole line less the country to to the CSZ line of the address field of the log. I am appparently reconstructing it from City, State, Zip and that is obviously not a good idea.

The callbook interface does not currently support VIA or IOTA. Not a QRZ Subscription problem per se. I will add it.

The "DXCC DESCRIPTION". Where do you see this? What form is it on?

Tnx & 73,

Dennis WN4AZY

Dennis, the truncated DXCC Description appears in the spot log.

Dennis, F5MUX is another random example of the location of a city code in the address. In fact, you can look at any non-NA address for how the city code is used--it appears either before or after the name of the city.

Ok, understand. Will make it longer. Meantime you can do it yourself.

Close the spot log. Go to tools/advanced/database commands. Follow the screen shot.

Dennis, I followed the screen shot and verified the width is now 24. But the spot log display is still truncated at 16 characters.

The old spots aren't going to magically fix themselves, but the new ones should not be truncated unless they are over 24 character.

Ok, to how many characters is it being truncated? Double-check your work. I made a dest spot of 3B6AA whihc is AGALEA & ST BRANDON 19 characters, and it is OK.

Tnx & 73,

DH
