I am using a Rigblaster Advantage to interface with my radio, Ten-Tec OMNI-VI and Logic 9 version 9.20.4.
The Rigblaster Advantage is on COM5 to control the radio and it has a separate line that uses the DTR on COM5 for interfacing to the Key port.
If I set COM5 to control the radio, when I try to set the Keying port to use COM5 the following message is displayed" "COM5 Access to the port 'COM5' is denied. (open in another application)". Looking at the Com Port Usage page the description has the following "Unavailable: Access to the port 'COM5' is denied. (already open)". The DTR?, RTS?, and Exclusive boxes are unchecked.

If I disable COM5 from controlling the radio then I can select COM5 for Keying and it works just fine. I was hoping to share that port for both functions. I'm probably doing something wrong in the setup. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

You can not share the same comports without the use of COMCOM, OMNIRIG, VSPE, etc... Your best option is to set CW to another comport.

Hi Fred:

The problem is that that the Ten-tec omni 6 (#35) is a legacy interface, and the older legacy interfaces do not support sharing the DTR line with another device.

However, I see that it actually uses the Icom-735 driver.

So....

Select the Icom Basic driver (#40). Get that working, then you should be able to set the Keyer to COM5 using DTR. Be sure to use LOGic's KEYER facility, not WinKeyer.

Let me know if this works and if so I will add a new menu option for the Omni 6.

Tnx & 73,

Dennis,

That worked. Let me know when you have the update for the OMNI-6.

Thanks,

Fred
