Help. After the ARRL DXCW Contest I attempted to update my log files. I was able to export to eQSL - almost 600 QSOs. When I attempted to import from eQSL, the box disappeared. I can select the import/export boxes, their presence is confirmed on the bottom task bar but when I attempt to open them on my screen I see a phantom shadow moving from the bottom task bar up and to the left but the box never appears on my monitor. I've tried minimizing all windows but the QSL import and export boxes are never visible now. Been working fine for a year with some uploads over 500 but most in the 20 or so range. I'm at a loss. This occurs with all QSO import/export boxes (both eQSL and LoTW)now. Is there any way to getting the boxes back onto the screen?

Tnx

Hi Walt--

It sounds like the windows may be off-screen.

Try the CASCADE WINDOWS feature. On Windows 7, right-click the task bar.

You can also try deleting FORM.INI, located in the LOGic install folder. This remembers window positions.

Tnx & 73,

Cool Thanks Dennis. I'm a happy camper now down on the beaches of the Florida Panhandle. Form.ini did it.

G'Day

... I use "remote desktop" a lot, and this sort of thing - windows off the display - happens a lot. Dennis's technique works, but affects all windows. My technique ...

Right click on the item in the task bar, click RESTORE, so the window is open - somewhere off the display
Even though you cannot see the window, use the following sequence of keys

alt-space m

then use the arrow keys to bring the window back onto the visible display. As soon as the window starts moving, you can also use the mouse to move the window into view.

This only works for windows with a "system menu" - the menu behind the icon at the top left of a window - even if there is no icon there - like Google Chrome. There is a technical name for such windows that escapes me. In Logic - any window that appears in the "desktop".

Try the technique first with the window visible on the display.
