de K6MI Just put the .50 update on my 11.49, and now when I open the program it gives me "announce.vex announcer.initialize_announce", and then the "LOGic.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" box. Any ideas?
Thanks, John K6MI

This looks like just the title of the error message box. Is there any more information?

Thank you for your help.
Using XP pro, new computer. Moved 11.49 over and it was ok. Added the .50 and developed the problem(s). When I open the program with telnet and spot log off it is ok. If I turn on the spot log, or open it with spot log already on I get the "announce.vex..." and you are right, there is more:

CreateAssemblyInstanceFromFileError: assembly\pdadirectsound.dllPDDA.Sound.PlayQueue Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Could not load file or assembly 'SlimDX,Version=2.0.11.43 Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=b1v0c32fd1ffe4f9. or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

And then the "Logic9 needs to close" screen comes up.
Today a few others came up as well:
Error 1925 and error 1924.

Hoping that this is the info you need.

Ok, go here http://slimdx.org/download_mar11.php and click "INSTALL .NET 2.0".

Errors subsequent to the first one are generally aftermath of the first one and not actual problems. But let me know if that doesn't fix it!

[quote=WN4AZY;2197]Ok, go here http://slimdx.org/download_mar11.php and click "INSTALL .NET 2.0".

I recently had a Hard Drive Failure and had to restore Windows 7 64 bit from a backup file.
I had lost 6 days of information.

I replaced my
log.fpt & log.dbf from one day ago.
I did a clean and restarted

After this I began getting error Announce.vcx error (see attached screen print) message and Logic usually (but not always) crashed in next few minutes.

I found information on this forum on replacing all of .dll files in C:\LOGic9/assembly folder.
I still received error.
I then re-installed SlimDX 2.0 & installed 4.0 Net.
Error changed but still got one and LOGic Crashed

Crash Report:
Description:
Stopped working

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Users\anthony\AppData\Local\Temp\WER988E.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml
C:\Users\anthony\AppData\Local\Temp\WER9B7B.tmp.mdmp

I tried re-installing LOGic 59 and still getting error (see attached screen shot)

Hi Anthony:

Wow, I've never run into that error. I have no idea what they mean by "side-by-side". I'll research it.

I see you installed .net 4.0. LOGic still uses 2.0. I think Win 7 comes with 2.0. But you could try reinstalling it, especially if you suspect .net framework problems for some reason.

Also, delete the contents of the ASSEMBLY folder inside the LOGic install folder, then install the latest update (.59). That will make sure that the LOGIc .net library is expecting the SlimDX version reverenced above.

Let me know.

Tried
uninstalling SlimDX 2.0 & 4.0 Net
Reinstall 2.0
Deleted the contents of the ASSEMBLY folder
install the latest update (.59)

Still same issue/symptoms

Still same problem tried new approach:
Uninstalled all .NET using dotnetfix
Ran windows &) updates to reinstall
Installed DXSLim

Edited form.ini
removed all references to DXSummit & DXscape
Removed all references to Spot Log
Removed contents of Assembly folder
Install LOGic .59
Started LOGic
No crash!

Then tried starting DXSummit & DXscape
both immediately resulted in Announce.vcx error
closed error dialog box
LOGic Crashes!

Sorry, I don't know what is going on.

Check your email. I sent you a new complete install of the latest LOGic 9. Try that and hopefully that will fix it. Let me know the results (for fastest service please reply here as opposed to responding to the email).
