Dennis:

Is there any way to add the HB9BZA LoTW users data base to the Spot Log so that I can see which of the spotted stations are known LoTW users when they are spotted?

Thanks

You can get close.

Simply open the Memberships display (forms/memberships). As you browse thru the spot log, LOTW USER will appear in the Memberships form if they are on the HB9BZA list.

Here's a way to do exactly what you asked: Set LOTW USER up as a user-defined field, turn on awards tracking and spotting for it. Now LOTW USER will show up as it's own line in the spot log any time a LOTW USER is spotted.

Go to tools/setup/log fields..., add a new record, and fill out using the attached screen shot.

Now that I have made the change, I get double spots that seem to be associated with the LOTW USE code in the Award field as you can see on the attached screen dump. Any way I can suppress the additional spot?

They are not duplicate spots. One line is for DXCC and the other for LoTW User. Look at the AWARD column.

The biggest problem is that this shows countries I have worked are showing up as unworked due to the LoTW designation as an "award". Is there any way the LoTW information can simply show up on the spot log in a form like the beam heading, rather than as an award?

No, there is no way for the user to add new coulmns of data to the spot log. I'll think about it but have to consider if it is worth the extra complexity seeing you can do the same thing with the Memberships window. Thoughts?

Another possibility is to make LoTW user a subaward of DXCC. I'll scratch my head on that one.

It would sure be helpful to have that information show up next to each spot...it would save time working band-modes that will cost me $4 in postage to confirm!

Well, I'm disinclined to do that -- in my opinion it wouldn't be worth the added work and overhead. I don't want to start a precedent where we add every column from every associated table (memberships, info, other QSOs) that someone may be particularly interested in.

s I said, you CAN easily get this info by opening the Memberships form then just clicking on the spot. There won't be that many new ones to look at.

Thanks for your understanding.

Interesting...I unchecked "Enabled?" in Field Info and unchecked "Track awards for this field?" and now it's working exactly the way I wanted! I don't see double spots, the highlighting for band/mode is correct, and the LoTW field is still there in the Spot Log with correct information from the HP9BZA database.
