Stations spotted as PSK, BPSK, PSK31, etc. show up usually as CW under the MODE column on the spot log. Shouldn't they show up as "DATA"?

Hi,

A spot does not have the mode sent with it.

You will have to define a frequency range for the digital modes on each band.

Go to:

Tools
Setup
Bands

Change the frequency range of CW on the band you are editing to make it smaller (don't leave a no mans land between what you define for CW and data). Then add a new band for the data.

A problem will show itself real quick. There really isn't a defined digital band on 24, 18, and 7 MHz. It is especially bad on 40 meters.

In my case I set up the Bands on 40 but I know that there will be CW mixed in with the data spots.

Hope that helps,

Bill

Not true! A spot with "RTTY" in the comment will show as "DATA" in the MODE column. Spot's with PSK, BPSK, PSK31, etc. should also show up with "DATA" in the MODE column.

Dennis, could you fix that for the next update?

Thanks,

If you want most of the spots the band approach is best. If you depend on the comment field you will miss the data spots that do not have a mode at the first of the comment field.

Another thing to think about is the band approach will work today. The comment field requires that Dennis modify Logic. I'm sure he will get around to it time by time but you need to remember that he is running a business whose scope is way larger than Logic.

Good luck which ever way you go.

Yes, I understand Dennis is running a business.

I am simply bringing this to Dennis's attention so that he can modify the program to be consistent. The mode is often added in the comments, so this would be a program improvement.

Hi--

I'll put a fix in the next update to treat BPSK etc like RTTY. No problem. It shouldn't have to be first either. RTTY at the beginning or anywhere in the comment area, preceeded by a space, should do it. I'll check that out too.

Thanks for the suggestion.

73 & happy new year!

Dennis
