I have created the following userfield dropdown list called CHANNEL containing the following:

FIELDNAME-----VALUE------DESC
CHANNEL--------D001-------4.1
CHANNEL--------D002-------4.2
CHANNEL--------D003-------4.3

I have added it to my form and it appears as a dropdown list.

I want to select a VALUE from the CHANNEL dropdown list and put the associated DESC in the FREQ field on the form.

Example: I choose the CHANNEL dropdown list and select/click on value D002, I want to populate the FREQ field on my form with the contents of DESC, in this case 4.2. I expect the procedure to do this is in the HELP info, but I can't find it. How can I perform this operation?

Hi--

I've thought about this, and see no way to get the description out of the table. GetUserField or Tag_val just return the value, and it gets that from the log table. The description is not in the log table, so it isn't merely a matter of making a version of GetUserField or Tag_Val that gets the description instead of the value.

I am doing some fairly extensive under-the-hood work to LOGic, and have a release about ready with new ADIF import handling, working towards auto logging FT8 etc. in real time. I will look into adding functions to return the whole LISTS record while I am at it.

I have another idea. See your other post.
