Here is how to import the FISTS membership into LOGic. Unfortunately it isn't a simple one-click operation, as the FISTS people change the URL of the data file with every release.

Go to
http://www.fistsna.org/howdoi.html#memlist

Next we need to get the URL of the LIST IN COMMA DELIMITED FORMAT link. Click the LIST IN COMMA DELIMITED FORMAT link. The data file will be displayed. Note the URL in the address bar of your browser.
As of this writing, the URL is
http://www.fistsna.org/p...ists_jul_2015_comma.csv

Copy this URL by highlighting it and typing {Ctrl+C}.

Run LOGic, go to Tools/Internet/Import FISTS Membership List. Click the EDIT button. Paste the URL obtained above by typing {Ctrl+V}.

LOGic will now download and install the Fists list when you click the Download button.

Check the FISTS site at http://www.fistsna.org/howdoi.html#memlist periodically to see if a new list is available. I don't know if they remove the old lists or not. I played around with the URL and could not find any older lists, so hopefully they do.

Hi Dennis,
I'm trying to update my FISTS membership list. However, whenever I've been trying lately, I get that 0 (zero) are updated and new members are not showing up. I did change the name to the current filename that's downloaded. But it doesn't seem to be importing the data properly.

Thanks, 73, and Happy New Year
Jim, WD9HBC

Looks like they changed the format (again).

The URL is now: http://fists.co.uk/docs/fistsmembers.csv

LOGic does indeed get it into tmp\allfists.txt with the correct file size.

It would seem not to like it. The first few lines are:

Quote:
Member Number,Callsign,Name,2016/12/31 11:56:24
1,GX0IPX,FISTS CW Club
2,GX3ZQS,FISTS CW Club
8,G4XHZ,Frank
12,ZL2BJC,Iain
29,G4FAI,Tony
35,G4HZV,Bob

and there are (currently) 4870 lines to the file.

73s, Don

Oh, good. At least I'm not doing something wrong. It does seem they went to a generic file name, which would be good as soon as Dennis is able to decipher the format and get it working with LOGic9.

Dennis,
Thanks for all your hard work.

Thanks for the heads-up. I am redoing the platform for importing this sort of stuff. I have a few days to go on it yet. But I will update this when I do.

Tnx & 73,
