Thanks for your call and posting the task manager screen shots.

Could you also send me the text of the error messages in the event viewer log? There were two for each crash -- one from LOGic and one from .Net.

The other person having a problem was something different, not this, BTW.

Tnx, 73 & HNY,

Dennis

Regarding the problem with LOGic not starting when SET CLOCK TO NIST ON STARTUP:

To get into the program, c:\program files (x86)\logic\pda.ini. That will turn off the SET CLOCK TO NIST ON STARTUP feature.

A possible fix: I changed the notification to show in the system notification area instead of a messagebox, where the problem lies.

Please download the attached file and unzip. Copy the resulting PDA.NTP.DLL to the ASSEMBLY folder inside the LOGic install folder (c:\program files (x86)\logic\assembly), overwriting the existing file. New step added 1/5/15: Right-click the new PDA.NTP.DLL. Click PROPERTIES. Checkmark UNBLOCK under Security.

Turn on SET CLOCK TO NIST ON STARTUP (in tools/internet) and test.

If that doesn't fix it, delete c:\program files (x86)\logic\pda.ini to get back in the program.

73 & HNY,

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

My computer with Logic (KF4BQ) updated OK with .80 version....but Peggy's computer (KM4KKU) is having problems will all updates past her original 9.072 version. Tried all updates after that and Logic crashes every startup.

Getting Announce window in later ones....then crash. Older ones have DB error shown in previous posts.

Even just reinstalling old 9.072 version doesn't fix.

Luckily I kept a copy of the program folder LOGIC and can get it to work if I delete updated (broke) LOGIC and copy old folder back....but even then sometime have to reinstall program over top to get to run again.

Probably have installed/ copied / reinstalled / updated maybe 100+ times so getting real old. Have been long time user since Atari days, but maybe time to just bail and go with another program..

Mike Collins KF4BQ and Peggy Gelb KM4KKU

Hi Mike:

Sorry for the problems.

There is obviously something amiss with Peggy's computer or the particular LOGic installation thereon. Have you completely blown away the LOGic installation and done a clean reinstall? Saving the log data first of course hihi. Copying the old installation back or installing on top of that could leave a corrupt file. Try a complete new reinstall, and restore only the log data. Do a backup/restore.

I can send you a complete new install for the .81 update to save you a little time if you want. Also, I would be happy to log in there and take a look.

Let me know what you would like for me to do.

73 & happy new year,

Dennis WN4AZY
