Not sure how to do this.

I would like to log onto the Reverse Beacon Network -
telnet://telnet.reversebeacon.net:7300

I would then like to filter the spot results by -
Spotters within 500 miles of my QTH
Spot only stations on a membership list (such as CW Ops)
Spot only mode CW

At this point I can't get onto the Reverse Beacon Network and can't filter by member number > 0

Assistance greatly appreciated.

It is just reversebeacon.net:7300. Log in with your call.

There is no documented way to filter spots on membership. Let me think about that. Possibly there is a VFP function that can do an index lookup. It should be an easy thing to add. A nice feature I think!

Dennis -

RBN login worked fine. Thanks.

Yes, using Logic to find members via skimmer would be a great feature. I use another logger that can do that.

But, even better, and something I can't do with another logger, is to add member numbers from a membership list to existing QSOs. For example, is it possible to add CW Ops numbers to previous QSOs with members? That way I can do things like filter my log to see how many members I worked in 2014.

Go to tools/memberships. Then click TOOLS/BATCH UPDATE QSOs on the menu at the top of the memberships form.

Dennis -

One hitch. I wanted the member numbers to be copied into new QSOs with the same station. In this example the FOC#.

From the log window (minilog form) I went LOG > Setup> Copy from prev QSOs and entered into 'From' this expression

TAG_FLD("FOC#:", USERFIELDS)

In the 'To' column I put

USERFIELDS

If I add a new record for K1GUP, his FOC number comes up correctly. But, when I click to update and flush buffers (as I do at the end of every QSO) and then add a new recoed, the FOC number from the prior QSO remains. If the new QSO does not have an FOC number to overwrite the one that was carried over into the textbox from the last QSO, that number gets assigned to the new QSO. In other words, the flush buffers doesn't flush the member number.

Flush Buffers just makes sure that anything floating around in Windows memory is written to disk in case the system fails. It shouldn't affect actual operation.

It sounds like you have CARRY FORWARD checkmarked in User Field setup. Turn this off. It has NOTHING to do with copying from previous QSOs with the same station.

Dennis -

Could you please step me through the menus to find where to make the change. Where's the User Field Setup?

Click the little black-and-white waiter man button on the log form.
