Many versions ago, I had Userfield 5 configured to add and display the DXCC entities name on the log form. The field is called "Country". Upon upgrading to a new version back a few years ago, I did not re-add this field. Tonight I successfully added it and, as it turns out, I can see the old Country entries in the new log.

What I would like to do is be able to use a program like "Fixstuff" or something like that, or the appropriate database commands, and have it go through the log and insert the country names into the log entries entered between then and now so they are all contiguous.

However, I am a little nervous about trying the database command feature since I don't know exactly how to write the code to look at the DXCC entity in the prefix table for each log entry and correspond that to the PREFIX.DXCC and place it in User5. Also having it skip entries where the country is already there (sorta skip if not null feature) would be really handy.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Ben:

I'll have to figure out the command to look up the country name and fill out your user-defined field. This isn't trivial unfortunately.

Stay tuned!
