I am trying to print a copy of my log to import into EXCEL. This is a sample of the file I got using, "Reports" > LOG > LOG > and typing GRID then default everything to "Select Order" > CALL. "Run report options--LOG" Output to: ASCII text file selected. (Window titles are in quotes>) What did I do wrong? Problems: fields cutoff, space between some fields missing. My log has over 10,000 records so manually fixing the errors is out of the question. I have managed a few small modification to report files in the past, but I'd rather not attempt to fix this. Does anyone have a LOG.rep file that does not have this problem they are willing to share.
The "Run report options--LOG" Output to: Screen selection does not have this problem but I have not way to create a file from that except Windows PDF which I cannot use.
What would really be nice is to have a .csv file selection in the "Run report options--LOG" window.

Any ideas of other ways to solve this?

Hi Dave,

LOGic has a much easier way to export to Excel. Go to Tools\Export Log Data then select "ADIF,XML,xBASE,ASCII and other generic formats". The next window will be where you can filter what you want to output from the log or just click on "ok" to take it all. Once "ok" is clicked Windows File Explorer will launch and you can navigate to where you want the file saved....THEN...at the bottom of that screen where it says "Save as type:" click on the arrow at the far right and then select "Microsoft Excel (XLS)". The excel file will be created and be formatted with column headers....Nice !!

I export to excel all the time. I use Excel's Map feature and fill maps of the US by band to illustrate WAS status. It a beautiful thing !!

If any questions or if you need some screen shots just yell !!

Be safe...

Of course. Got focused on the wrong solution.
Thanks.
By the way there is a free ADIF to CSV converter that has worked for me. There is also CSV to ADIF converter but I've not used it yet.

If Brad's solution does not produce the format you want, there's a more dangerous way to do it.

Go to Tools -> Advanced -> Database commands. Enter the following commands:

use log
copy to mylog.txt delimited
use
exit

This will produce a comma-delimited file of all records in you log. It's placed in the LOGic folder. You can import in Excel and massage to your hearts content.

Thanks Don. That sounds like it may get me directly to where I want to be. I'll try it after running a backup.
