Dennis, when looking up a prefix in the prefix table screen, only one of the prefix searches works correctly. If you do the search using the lookup in the upper window, you find the prefix and click on the green arrow, the prefix is anchored but none of the information in the rest of the window changes. Doing the exact same thing in the lower spreadsheet window and everything works correctly.

Hi--

Do I understand correctly that you the binocular button on the top data window works, but the one on the browse spreadsheet window does not? Not seeing that here. Both buttons work exactly the same way.

Using 10.0.8, not released yet but should be no different than 10.0.7.

Let me know.

Tnx & 73,

Dennis, no, I'm not speaking of the binocular button in the upper window. If you go to the DXCC pfx dropdown in the top window and search thru it, it doesn't work. I'm using 10.0.7

This? (See attached)

That isn't for searching for a different prefix record like the Binocular or Funnel does (or clicking in the browse spreadsheet-looking window.) It changes the value of the DXCC Pfx field for the current record.

The button to the right searches thru all possible DXCC prefixes. Suppose you were entering a new prefix record for Canada. You click +. LOGic adds a blank record to the database. You could simply enter VE here. But suppose you forgot what the prefix for Canada is. So click on the three-dot button, enter Canada, Click Find, then the green checkmark.

It works exactly like the DXCC field on the log form. It changes the value of that field. It does not locate another log record with a DXCC matching the value you selected.

Is this helpful?

I get what you're saying, Dennis. What I'm saying is that when you select a different prefix using that drop down, nothing else on the page updates to match the prefix you've selected. Is it not supposed to?

Correct. It is not supposed to.

About the only time you would use this field is if you were adding a new prefix record.

The only other scenario I can think of is if you had an entry for Canada. Everything is correct but somehow the DXCC Prefix field had VK in it by mistake. You want to fix this. So select VE for the DXCC prefix. You don't want the screen to change to Australia's data, overwriting the Canadian data.

Something to be aware of: I suggest reinstalling the prefix table. If you changd that value expecting it to locate a new record, and don't change it back, upir prefix table is screwed up as described in the above paragraph.

Tnx & 73,

DH
