Hi Dennis,
I need to manage a new Italian award called WAIS (Worked All Italian Squares).
I already have all the Italian squares in a database called WAIS.
The field in the logform called WAIS must be filled automatically with the WAIS value corresponding to the WWlocator of the GRID field.
For example, the JN90CI must match the WAIS EN70 value.
How do I have to do this data link?
I tried with membership but can only handle the CALL field.
I hope I have explained it well.
Thank you.

Hi Mauro:

It may require me to do some coding to do that. I trust this list has a cross-reference to the grid square. It seems that we could use calculated fields to do it off the grid square -- just log the grid square and it will track WAIS.

This is similar to the CQ FIELD award, and the WAB Large Squares award, which I will be posting about in a few minutes. The only difference is that these are parts of the Grid Square or WAB square. No table lookup is required. FFMA does a table lookup, but only to make sure the US is in the square.

Anyway, please post a link where I can download the table, or post it here. I just finished WAB Squares, so the timing is perfect seeing I am in that mode hihi.

Tnx & 73,

Hi--

I downloaded this software and found a list of squares in it:
http://www.ik3qar.it/wais/download/index_eng.php

It is attached.

It is possible to calculate the WAIS square from a 6-character Maidenhead locator.
http://www.ik3qar.it/wais/

It would be possible to make a conversion table from Maidenhead to WAIS, but it would be a huge table. Several 6-character Maidenhead squares make up one WAIS square.

Let me work on a conversion function. If you know the owner of the site, and if he could give you the source code, that would help. It looks like I need http://www.ik3qar.it/wais/wais_result.php I could figure it out, but it would take some time, not to mention debugging.

Meantime, here is the WAIS list. You could set up a field and log WAIS.

Tnx & 73,

Hi Dennis,
Thanks for the interest.
I do not know personally the author IK3QAR Paolo but I have already begun to know the formula for getting the conversion from WWLoc to WAIS. I have not yet had an answer.
I already have an active WAIS table in Logic and I started converting all the WWLocators in my log, with the IK3QAR WAIS software, for all Italian stations qsos in WAIS value.
So far I've processed 1100 to get to over 2000, all different.
73's and thanks again.
