Hi. I've been using Logic 8 for several years. All of a sudden when I submit a spot via telnet on either my telnet1 or telnet2 sites I get an "invalid command" response. It was working until recently. Any ideas what changed?

Ok, this error is coming from the host.

Are you submitting the spot using LOGic's input form? Does what gets sent to the cluster look OK?

This is the proper format:

DX DE WN4AZY: 14067.8 DU2DX optional comment goes here

Compare what LOGic is sending with other spots that other people sent. Try entering spots by hand.

Let us know.

Tnx & 73

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, I am using the Logic spot entry box/form.
This is what is showing on the telnet response vs the info that you provided:
DX DE WN4AZY: 14067.8 DU2DX optional comment goes here

DX/K7UA 14237.0 UA0IT INVALID COMMAND

Obviously the DX/ instead of the DX DE isn't the correct format, but I don't know what to do about it.
Any ideas?

Ok, actually,

DX/K7UA 14237.0 UA0IT COMMENT

or just

DX 14237.0 UA0IT COMMENT

is the proper format for sending a spot.

DX DE WN4AZY: 14067.8 DU2DX optional comment goes here

is the format that the cluster send spots to LOGic in.

I tried it on our local cluster and it works 100%. In the attached photo what LOGic sent is hilighted. The response is below -- a valid spot.

Try not filling out the SPOT BY field. The cluster may not support it. This is normally left blank anyway. See the touch help for this field.

If that doesn't work, tell me what cluster you are using so I can try it here.

Tnx & 73,

DH

I tried leaving my call blank in the entry box and it worked fine. Strange that something changed, but problem solved!
Thanks and 73, K7UA

Ok, FB. They changed something on the cluster end.
