May be I am missing something. I have seen several spots that meet the criteria to marked as needed in the mode column, but are not marked in red. For instance I am looking as a spot CE1/KC7A 10M CW, I have no entry’s in the log for CE 10M CW, and the “CW” in the mode column of the spot log is black. This is not always true, for instance this spot, LW5EE 10M CW is marked as needed, same conditions, no LU entry in the log for 10M CW. There are more spots being indicated incorrectly than not. This is present in all spots and it does follow and band or mode.
So what’s the deal is something wrong, or do I not understand the selection logic?

Check and make sure that it is translating the call to the country properly. Does AWARD say DXCC, and VALUE say CE and LU respectively?

Try clicking Awards/Update Awards Progress. If this is the problem, it will not fix spots already in the spot log, so just clear it out and check new results. CLEAN UP INDEXES AND TEMPORARY FILES could fix this (done from the Windows start menu).

If that doesn't do it the best thing for us to do is get together via telephone and I can log in and see what's going on.

To your comments a lot of the spots do not have an award and award value, so I did as you suggested, Update Award progress, cleared the spot log, and shutdown and re-indexed, still the same thing.

Ok, which spot do you need in your screen shot that is not marked as needed? When a spot shows up with a blank award and value it is not needed for anything.

The DXCC column looks correct, so no problem with prefix table update?

Something else to check is the band table -- make sure you have spotting and DXCC turned on for the band segment. Tools/Setup/Bands or there is a button in the Spot Log OPTIONS tab.

Also, back to your original post, Filter your log for DXCC equals CE and BAND equals 10M. Make sure there is no matching QSO in the log.

Another thing to check is the setting of SPOT LEVEL on the Options page. That tells the spot log what determines if a spot is needed or not based on QSL-in-hand or merely worked.

Tnx & 73,

I was just showing that lots of spots do not have an entry in the award column.
But here is one 5K3R 15M CW, I have no QSO in the log for HK 15M CW. But I will in a few minutes!

And again KG4AS, this one should be red on both band and mode, no 30M QSO in log. Band table only had a "4" in the Dxcc box.

Ok, I see what is going on.

Note that in the screen shot of your spot log, 15M and CW is UNDERLINED. This means that you DO need HK on 15 CW. This is correct. You do not have HK on 15M CW.

Why is 15M not red? Because you apparently have HK on 15M, but on a mode other than CW.

And why is CW not red? Because you apparently have HK on CW, but on a band other then 15M.

If HK was red, it would mean that you do not have HK, period. If 15M was red, it would mean that you do not have HK on 15M, period. If CW was red, it would mean that you do not have HK on CW, period.

Let me know if this does not explain other conditions you are seeing.

See after using LOGic since version 5, doesn’t mean you have everything down pat.

Thanks
