Is the column "Grid" in the spot Log that of the spotting station or the station being spotted ??

In my Spot Log grid is almost always that of the station doing the spotting instead of the spotted station.
Seems backwards, also, when the "Value" column is populated its also the grid of the spotting station.

I attached a jpeg and highlighted one spot where the station's being spotted grid (from the Grid column) is actually that of the spotting station.

Maybe I'm missing something....Anyone ??

Thanks, de Brad N8GLS

LOGic takes the first grid square in the comment. I changed the 9.1.8 update to take the second.

How consistent are people in spotting in this format (mygrid <> hisgrid)?

Tnx & 73,

Hi Dennis,

HNY !!

Well, I just started looking at the VHF spots even though I've been a weak signal VHF'er for many many years. I always run "unassisted" and so never paid much attention to the spotting of grids nor have I ever set-up the spot log to look at grids.

I don't know if a "standard" syntax for grid spots really exists, but its been backwards for the last couple days I've been looking at them. I'll let you know if its backwards again.....hi hi.

Thanks very much for the "fix". I'll watch it and report back.

Thanks again,

73, de Brad
