Hi Dennis,

I am trying to improve my contest report.

I see from the LOGFORM definition file there are variables on the form ...
Quote:
[Contest]
Contest_id=CQ-WW-SSB
NextStx=1219
BegDate=20111029
EndDate=20111030
ChkDup=Yes
BandDupe=Yes
ModeDupe=No
Report1Expr=DXCC
Report1Heading=DX:
Report2Expr=TAG_VAL("CQZ:",USERFIELDS)
Report2Heading=CQZ:
QSOPtsDefault=0
MultPts1=1
MultExpr1=DXCC
MultDescr1=DX:

... and I see from the existing report how some of the data is accessed.
Quote:
begdate = _screen.contest.begdate
enddate=_screen.contest.enddate
contest_id = _screen.contest.contest_id

*h1=_screen.contest.multdescr1
*h2=_screen.contest.multdescr2

For me, Report1Heading and Report2Heading work as expected. But, if I use the above model, most of the other data items on the contest form return "Property 'xxx' is not found".

How can I reference other data items on the sub-panels of the Contest Form Setup dislogue besides ReportxHeading.

Hi Peter:

The logform file you are looking at does not configure the contest scoring object (_screen.contest). They have some names in common, but there is no 1:1 mapping.

Here are the items that are available to you.

Let me know if any questions.

Tnx & 73,

Dennis WN4AZY

Thanks Dennis.

Just what the doctor ordered. I will share the report when I have verified the use of it in most of my contest logs.

G'Day,

After many hours of effort over many months, I think my Contest Report is ready to share. I am not sure, because I have been working with it so much I cannot see the forest for the trees.

Feedback would be much appreciated.

The attached report files should be placed in the LOGic report folder, and run against a correctly configured Contest logform. A page of information is printed about the configuration of the logform for the contest.

The Title page looks like this ...

The title page

the body of the report looks like this ...

and the summary page like this.

The title pageSummary page[/img]

The report depends on the correct configuration of the Contest logform, and uses the Heading field from the General page, the "description" items of the Multiplier, and QSO Points pages for some details. A little experimentation with the description fields will quickly show what is used where - keep the descriptions short, but meaningful, no more than three characters.

Full use is made of the reporting facilities to calculate QSO rates, show slack times, and rest periods. The reports are most useful in 24 and 48 hour contests with hundreds of QSOs.

It has been tested in all the contest I have entered since 1998.

I have only one warning when using the report. The report is based around the typical international HF contest. I have no experience with QSO party type contests.

If you have a problem using the report, please ask. Feedback is much appreciated.
