Dennis,

I submitted my log file for the VA QSO party in the Cabrillo format and got the following email response back:

Thanks for participating in the Virginia QSO Party!

Instead of '59' in your QSO record, need serial number and QTH for you and the other party
http://www.qsl.net/sterl.../2013_VQP_Cabrillo.html

Is there a way to select what fields are output in the Cabrillo file?

Thanks,

Fred

G'Day,

Yes ... you need to use the correct "template" for the Cabrillo file you want to create.

How did you create the "incorrect" Cabrillo form.

There are some "universal tenplates" supplied with Logic, which you can modify for any contest.

See Help, Contesting.

You can help by posting images of any errors and including your Logic version.

Peter,

Didn't realize the Cabrillo template files were customizable. I need to look at some of the templates that are present and update one for my needs. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks,

Fred

Try this -- I have not tested it yet, but is a step in the right direction.

Unzip and put in the logdata/logforms folder. The only change to the log form is that it references the new VA QSO Cabrillo template. Couldn't find any existing template that matched....

Dennis,

I tried the two files and got a Cabrillo export Column definition error - See attached file Cabrillo error screenshot. I also reread the scoring rules and found that mobile stations get 3 points instead of 1. I updated the logform which I have attached. I got an email back from SPARC on the format for the Cabrillo file. I have attached that as well. I looked over the VA QSO PARTY.CABRILLO file and did not see what was causing the error. I also looked at the fields available in the format but did not see how to get MYVAQSO or the counties to be displayed. However, these may get displayed when the error gets resolved. I'm sure you're hating this contest about now.....

Thanks,

Fred

Sorry I forgot to put a * for the comment line. That's what I get for not testing.

Anyway, I ran your log and it lines up with their sample, so we are OK now I think.

Thanks for your patience. All my fault, so no complaints from me.

As for MYVAQSO it would have prompted you. I fixed it to pull from the database for mobiles. Good thought.

Many tnx & 73,

Dennis

Dennis,

Thanks for getting back to me on this. I generated the Cabrillo file and it appears to be missing a field and some county information. You indicated that you had the Cabrillo output matching correctly but the one in the zip file does not contain the QTH field for my call (MYVAQSO) or the Virginia county (VAQSO) for the Virginia contacts. Are you sure you attached to correct Cabrillo file? Also, I think the frequency field may need to be enlarged. The two contacts with a frequency of 144 probably should display 146550. Since contacts can also be made on 1.2GHz the field size should probably be 7.

Thanks,

Fred

Well, I don't think I uploaded the wrong thing, but who knows? I am uploading everything again, along with the Cabrillo file. Try exiting LOGic and restarting.

Is the attached Cabrillo file OK or am I missing something?

The 144 for 2M is correct -- it is not caused by the allocated size of the freq column. See
http://www.kkn.net/~trey...rillo/qso-template.html

Dennis,

The logform and the Cabrillo file work now. The logform you included was one that did not have the mobile stations included in the logform. So I am sending that one back in case someone else wants to use it.

Thanks for all you help. I really enjoy using Logic. Keep up the good work.

Dennis,

I was looking at the certificate I received and noticed a difference between the point total I submitted and the points on the certificate. I did some more research and found that the logform was not scoring the mobile and expedition stations correctly. They were being counted as 4 points in the QSO section of the report, 1 for SSB mode and 3 for being a mobile or expedition. I needed to add filtering on both of the mode scoring checks so they would only include non-mobile and non-expedition stations. I also added expedition scoring. Now when I run the report or view the scoring window it matches the certificate total.

I have attached the logform file and text report. Sorry I didn't get this right the last time but hopefully it's right now (again).
