Nickel-Metal Hydride Rechargeable Batteries

Rechargeable, environmentally-friendly Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery technology gives nearly twice the performance of Nickel-Cadmium cells with no memory effect.

Replace disposable batteries with these to save time and money.  Replace NiCD batteries with our NiMH batteries for longer run time.

Because of their great power-to-weight ratio, we use AA cells in electric-powered model aircraft.. Great for HTs, handheld scanners, GPS receivers, digital cameras, personal entertainment devices, and flashlights. 1.2v per cell.

Charge with any slow charger at 1/10th the mAh rating (C10) for 10-16 hours, or use any NiMH-approved peak-detecting charger at up to the mAh-rating of the cell. The unit listed to the right works great. Most devices that come with a "wall brick" charger will work on NiMH. Just double the recommended NiCD charge time.

Battery Hints

Store all your batteries (rechargeable NiMH or NiCd, as well as Alkaline or Carbon-Zinc) in your refrigerator for maximum life!

While NiMH and particularly NiCD are tolerant of overcharging at low current levels, for maximum life, do not leave on trickle-charge. If you want to always have fully-charged batteries ready to go, charge at C/10 for one hour per day. Plug the device’s brick charger into a cheap mechanical timer from K-Mart and set to cycle on for one hour once a day.
