What does this update include?

Below is a log of version releases and what was added or changed.  There is no information available for some builds, as they usually include only cosmetic changes, minor feature changes or bug fixes requested by an individual that do not affect most users, experimental features, or  incomplete interfaces under development for new hardware.

8.0.89 (Aug 8, 2008)

•Fixed security certificate error related to Logbook of the World. Changed URLs from www... to p1k...

8.0.88 (Aug 5, 2008)

•Fixed error "Member ITEM does not evaluate to an object" when trying to use DX Summit, and you are not connected to the internet, or DX Summit is down.

8.0.87 (Jul 21, 2008)

•DX Summit interface fixed, for now at least!

8.0.86 (Jun 23, 2008)

•Better handling of errors resulting from DX Summit apparently sending erroneous data, or if you use the wrong URL. A notification will appear rather than a program error.

Apparently DX Summit no longer uses AJAX for partial-page updates.  Today, we noticed that the page reloads every minute as usual. LOGic will now work with either scheme.

NOTE:  DX Summit appears to still be in a state of change.  We have discontinued development on this for a week or two until things stabilize. Please use DXScape or Telnet in the meantime. (June 28, 2008)

8.0.85 (May 29, 2008)

•Support for the new DX Summit webcluster site.

If you get an error "No Table Selected..." after installing, it is because you manually changed the URL, and logic is using that instead of the new default (http://www.dxsummit.fi/DxSpots.aspx?count=25&range=1). To fix this, edit file named INTERNET.INI which is inside your LOGic8 folder. Just double-click it.  (Depending on how you have your Windows Explorer set up, the file name may just show as INTERNET.)   Delete the URL line under the [webcluster] section.  Or, just delete the whole file.  Restart LOGic.

Note that the new DX Summit site does not repeatedly download as the old one did.  It updates the client (your computer) automatically.  Watch the browser window in LOGIc's DX Summit form, and you can see the contents refresh without the page reloading.  The interval timer just controls how often LOGic processes the information that is sent to it.

Other than smoother spot log updates, this does not affect how LOGic runs or how you use the cluster.  We just mention it so that no one gets concerned that you no longer see "Downloading..." appear periodically in the Status field as before.  This is normal for the new DX Summit site.

We have not yet implemented posting spots to the new site.

Note, the .84 build parsed date posted incorrectly. Now fixed.

8.0.83 (Apr 24, 2008)

•New Cabrillo format for BARTG RTTY contest.

•Changed URL for Norwegia•Support for the new DX Summit webcluster site.  After installing, make sure the URL points to http://www.dxsummit.fi/DxSpots.aspx?count=25&range=1.  If it does not, click the EDIT button and enter this URL manually.

Note that LOGic does not periodically reload this page as it did with the old DX Summit system.  The DX Summit server keeps LOGic's copy updated automatically.  The timer simply controls how often LOGic processes the page.  This does not affect operation.  We mention it only so no one gets concerned that you no longer see DOWNLOADING in the status field.

We have not yet implemented support for posting spots to the new site.

8.0.83 (Apr 24, 2008)

•ULAR web callbook updated to support changes to their site.

•OMISS membership import updated to support changes to their site.

•SKCC membership import updated to indicate Tribune members.

•Resolved problem of LOGic timing out when downloading the FCC callbook. The Import FCC form now downloads at normal processor priority, regardless of the setting chosen (Processing still occurs at the selected priority level.) Also increased timeout. This will be more reliable when their site gets slow. Now uses HTTP instead of FTP. Make sure the URL is set to the new location:

http://wireless.fcc.gov/uls/data/complete/l_amat.zip

You can always download l_amat.zip using Internet Explorer or other client. Save to the TMP folder inside of the LOGic8 folder. Then click the Proceess tab, then the Process button.

•Fixed problem with OPEN LOTW SITE IN BROWSER in LoTW Import form. Was generating an error when invoking more than once.

•FT-2000/9000 split operation fixed. Not tested. Let us know...

8.0.59 (Oct 27, 2006)

•Drivers added for all Icoms to permit use an individual unshared port instead of the Icom CI/V bus if desired.

•Changes to accommodate changes to the Belgium and UALR callbook sites.

•Callbook form may now be sized to smaller to mostly hide the Browser, Stop, and Setup buttons. These buttons are not use often, so some may appreciate a little extra screen space.  Fixed problems with saving size and position of callbook window after using the hide/show web display button.

8.0.40 (May 16, 2006)

•Rotor head form remembers rotor selection.

8.0.38 (Apr 27, 2006)

•Support for 10-10 contest "Cabrillo" export. This contest requires three exchange columns, and is not listed as a standard template at the Cabrillo web site.  Besides support for a third set of exchanges, the Cabrillo setup has been enhanced to allow custom prompts for transmitted exchanges.  See 1010.logform.

The new 1010.logform is included in this update.  However it will not install if the file date on your 1010.logform is newer than ours. So, delete logdata\logforms\1010.logform before installing the update, or get it from the FTP site.

•Fixed bug where function keys would be disabled when going to a terminal/telnet window.  Fixed bug where pressing {F2} while in a searchable dropdown list box would send CW Function Key 2 instead of opening search form.

•Clicking Log/Force Log (which updates Time On and re-reads the rig) now prompts for confirmation.  This is the default selection when clicking Log on the menu bar, and pressing {Enter} would Force Log. This was too easy to do acidentally, so we added a prompt.  To use the feature and avoid the prompt, use the {F6} shortcut key.

•New check box in tools/setup/station info to force recalculation of DX and Direction. (DX and Direction are still automatically recalculated if you change your station location or merely click in or tab to the Lat/Lon or Grid fields.)
