LOGic and 60 Meters
LOGic 7 comes with 60 Meters already installed.  The following info provides operating info about 60 Meters, and describes how to add it to previous versions of LOGic back to 5.0.

LOGic has always featured user-defined bands and modes.  Therefore, not only is it popular with MARS operators, but is almost ready-to-go for 60-Meter operation.  All you have to do is add the new band to LOGic's band table, then selecting LOGic's Update Awards Progress Info feature.

Since 60 Meters is actually 5 channels, we recommend adding a 60M entry to the band table for each channel.  Allow a little room on either side of the  frequency to allow a small bit of off-frequency operation.  For info on operating frequencies and regulations, Click Here for the ARRL's 60-meter info  page.

The ARRL's 60 Meter site has info on modifying rigs to work on 60 Meters.  It states, as per Icom,  that there are no mods for Icoms to permit 60M operation.  However, we have an old IC-735 that transmits over its whole tuning range. Click here for instructions on performing this mod.

In order to make setup for 60M easier, we have provided a band table and a radio memory table for 60 Meters.  The band table allows 500 hz wiggle room on either side of the actual channel frequency.

Note that this data is provided as-is, and PDA assumes no responsibility for its accuracy.  You are responsible to make sure you are transmitting on the correct frequency and mode!

Installation

These files update your band and radio memory tables.  They do not alter your existing data in any way.

These files and instructions work for LOGic 5 and later only.

  • Download 60MBAND.DBF and 60MMEM.DBF from our FTP site.  Put them in the root of your C: drive.
  • Run LOGic.  Go to Tools/Advanced/Database commands.  Type the following commands:

USE BANDMSTR
APPEND FROM C:\60MBAND

USE RADIOMEM
APPEND FROM C:\60MMEM

  • Close the Database Commands window.
  • Go to Tools/Setup/Bands. Note that there are now five 60M entries. Close the band table screen. (Do not skip this step. It is necessary for the band table screen to open the band table in order to add necessary codes related to awards tracking).
  • Go to Tools/Update Awards Progress Info.  Leave all the options at their default values and click UPDATE.

To most conveniently tune your radio to the proper channels, use LOGic's Radio Memories feature.
