G'Day Bill,
Perhaps this is a real case for "user" entries in the Prefix Table, and should NOT be in the "official list".
As you say W8A and N8A is miss-allocated - should be K not KH8.
Two things are possible ...
Perhaps the "applicant" knew more than the "clerk" allocating the calls, and should not have accepted this allocation for use in American Samoa - and gently persisted, until a correct call for KH8 was allocated.
Or
The "clerk" is correct based on the material he/she received, and "the applicant" should be operating as KH8/W8A or KH8/N8A. Just like KH8/N9YU is doing as I type.
The latter is obviously not a good idea for a busy DXpedition.
With my limited experience I am not the one to adjudicate the issue either way.
But, given this is just about personal logging of QSOs, my personal preference would be for the entry to remain for ever a "user entry" limited by dates.
I wonder what others are thinking - probably "work them first, worry later". Will the ARRL be concerned about the actual call-sign used, for the purposes of DXCC awards?
