Just downloaded 9.0.78, now it seems that Spot Log does not work. I see spots on telnet, but nothing new on spot log.

Sending DX spot works (I see it on telnet) but even the test on the spot log does not put it on the cluster.

New error message just popped up.

this isn't new to the new version but it still doesn't work.

on the Logic World Map there is a button marked "setup" if I click it, the World map window freezes. I have to quit logic and re-start to un-freeze it.

Thanks for your many many hours Dennis.

The first update in a long line of updates that didn't trigger a warning from my anti-virus (Avast), for whatever that may be worth.

Make sure the prefilter in the spot log is not catching them. Turn it off and see if you get anything.

Never seen that error before. Will research it. Was it a one-time thing?

I'll bet the config window is off-screen, so it just looks like it is hung. To fix, go into the LOGic install folder (typically C:\Usr\pda\VSProjects\PDA\LOGic\LOGic9\LOGic9). Look for worldmap.config. Delete it, or if you don't want to have to redo your world map settings, edit it in Notepad and change the ConfigForm top and left to 0.

Cool, but I didn't do anything. Maybe they coincidentally fixed Avast.

Can you reproduce this error? Look in the telnet window and see what spot posted before it croaked. This is different than the error I fixed in .78 BTW.

Alan, I would like to log onto your machine and see what is going on. Mine is receiving and processing spots from K4UGA telnet no problem.

Ok, mia culpa. I downloaded the .78 from the forum as apposed to installing my original, and it would not do prefix lookups or spot either. The prefix table had only about 500 prefixes when it reindexed. So pse download again. I made some other code changes, not relevant I think, but just so we know what page we are on. I tested this one from the server hihi.

Dennis,

Perhaps you can log into W5GA's machine as I am working and won't be available until Friday afternoon. He has the same issue. Otherwise, I will contact you off list to arrange for a time.

Thanks,

9.0.79 issues with spot log.....

The spot log with some frequencies displays the band as a horizontal line. Looks like the band table is hosed up.
Spot for 7.185 Mhz shows band as 40M, but spot for 7.134 Mhz shows band as __ . Spot for 3.79 Mhz shows band as __, same for 3.77 Mhz, same for many other frequencies.

FYI - Scrolling over in the spot log to the error column (forgot about that being there) has all the above with the error "Freq not on band table". Will look at the table and see what's missing or what freq's ranges changed....

Hi Brad:

Either the format of the spot is wrong, or your band table is hosed.

Quote:

Does the spot log actually have underscores in it, or just indicating that it displays as blank?

Look at the raw spot in telnet or on the web browser, and make sure that is OK. Chances are something is wrong there. If not, make sure that you have a band table entry that encompasses the frequencies in question. It is interesting that all of the frequencies you mention fall outside the General portions of the band. Maybe it is the band table.

BTW, I don't think there is anything with the updates that would affect this.

Let me know.

There was another error

PDA.LOGicPrefixCallsignDBLookup: Object reference not set to an instance of an object...

that I had trouble tracking down. I finally reproduced it and fixed it. Pse download .79 again. It didn't get a new version number as the error was in a DLL, and I did not recompile LOGic proper.

Dennis,

Ok, well, I'm baffled. The spot log raw data was correct. The Band table had some set to the General portion of that band, clueless as to how that happened. I don't ever remember seeing the Spot Log displaying an underscore (or blank), anyways, I changed the band table and all seems fine......thanks !!
